About Andrea
Before I ever designed a logo or built a website…
I worked in politics, journalism, public relations, marketing, and community organizing— a path that took me across the country and eventually halfway around the world.
Looking back, it wasn’t nearly as random as it seemed.

THE THROUGHLINE
At its core, my career has always been about connection.
Connecting people to people. Connecting people to information. Connecting information to action.
Connecting people to people. Connecting people to information. Connecting information to action.
Connecting the Dots
The experiences that shaped how I think—and ultimately, how I approach branding.

POLITICS & ORGANIZING
N.Y., D.C., & Across the U.S.
Finding My Voice
I spent those years organizing alongside the people who keep our communities running—from nurses and hospital employees to farm workers, Head Start educators, and public servants.
JOURNALISM & GRAD SCHOOL
Sydney, Australia
The Power of Story
After the 2004 election, I left politics and moved halfway around the world. I wasn’t walking away from communication—I wanted to understand it more deeply. Whether I was researching the impact of media framing on policy or producing a documentary, I became fascinated by the way stories shape what people believe.
PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING
Santa Monica, California
Thinking in Pictures
While leading strategic communications for the City of Santa Monica’s No Smoking campaign, our agency partnered with a branding firm to develop the campaign creative. It was the first time I saw strategy transformed into something visual, memorable, and emotionally resonant. That’s when I realized visual communication wasn’t just another way to tell a story—it was the language I’d been thinking in all along.
BRAND LEADERSHIP
Boulder, Colorado
Building Brands
At New Wave Enviro, I led a company-wide rebrand spanning strategy, messaging, packaging, websites, trade shows, and customer experience. For the first time, I wasn’t designing individual pieces—I was building an entire brand. Everything I’d learned about people, stories, and visual communication finally came together in one discipline: branding.
TODAY
Boulder, Colorado
Creating Clarity
Today, I help founders and leadership teams align around the decisions great brands are built on. When everyone shares a clear understanding of who they are, who they serve, and why they matter, everything else—from messaging and design to marketing and growth—becomes easier.
20/20
Looking back, the throughline is obvious.
It was never really about politics, journalism, marketing, or design. It was about seeing the same problem from different angles. Today, I help organizations do the same.
